Abbey Otinger

Growing up as a first generation immigrant from Pakistan who was transplanted into the melting pot known as “northern Virginia” in the late 1980’s, Abbey quickly adapted to her new environment. She took advantage of everything her public school district had to offer and went onto earn a Bachelor of Arts from George Mason University, followed by a Master of Arts and a Master of Education from Columbia University. During her twelve years as a School Counselor in middle and high schools in Fairfax County, Virginia, Abbey also earned her administrative certification through the University of Virginia.

While tempted to continue on in the education field as a school administrator, Abbey decided to say goodbye to her career and become a fulltime stay at home mom of her newborn twins, Zach and Zain. As Zain grew and was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, Abbey and her husband Chad began formulating plans of one day opening their own nonpublic school that specializes in educating students with autism. Their dream is finally coming to fruition with the opening of Kamran School.

Chad Otinger

Chad grew up in rural Alabama, amidst a family that valued religion, sports, and agriculture. He learned the value of hard work and taking care of his share of responsibilities at a very young age. While Chad loved his family and their way of life, he knew that he wanted something more than what his immediate surroundings had to offer. He left home to attend Jacksonville State University and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing.

Upon graduation, Chad decided to make an unprecedented move to the Washington DC area in search of better career opportunities. After spending a decade gaining experience in various aspects of business and shipping logistics, Chad started his own franchise of freight shipping logistics brokerage. As the company grew in size and revenue, Chad along with his wife Abbey and their twin boys moved to the Annapolis area to be closer to water. Like his wife, Chad has also dreamt of opening Kamran School to support other families like his own.
